The real estate market in the Maumee School District for 2017 was similar to most of the local markets.
Home buyers were out in good numbers but sellers were a little more scarce. This was reflected in several important ways:
1. The average number of homes on the market at any one time was down 26.9% from 2016.
2. With good buyer participation and a lower number of homes for sale, houses tended to spend less time on the market.
3. Because there were less homes available For Sale, the number of closed sales was down from 2016. 4. Finally, with more buyers than sellers, good demand caused rising prices with a 12% increase over 2016.
The good news is that while these are very positive results, the market was not overheated and is likely to continue this way for 2018. Hopefully, we'll see some more sellers to help meet all this buyer demand!
