Market Starting To Pick Up

After a slow fall market that saw lots of homes come on the market, but few sell, we're seeing a definite uptick in activity. Our website visits have doubled over the previous months, requests for showings are better than they've been in months, and the phone is starting to ring again.

There's a couple of reasons for this. First, there's a lot of pent up buying demand as buyers stood on the sidelines waiting to see what was going to happen with interest rates, the election, and prices. This was a time of lowball offers that sellers didn't accept so few homes were sold.

Prices in the Toledo real estate market have stayed steady. We didn't experience the overpriced market seen on the east and west coasts - we didn't experience a ballon that the air needed to escape from. Predictions are for another year of 2%-4% price appreciation, which is what we've been seeing for some time.

This upswing seems to be both the season uptick that we get at the beginning of the new year and the realization by home buyers that this is a fantastic environment to buy a home - low rates and high inventories.
